Cracked video, Pot Luck Conference, and more! - July 31, 2012

Yesterday evening the boys and girls of Saturday's Radio put together a lyric video for Smile Slightly's "Cracked". I really like the style of this one & might do a few more lyric videos this way. At this stage we're just trying to get Saturday's Radio music up to YouTube, thus the lyric videos. We'll get more creative and fancy, as well as shoot some solo-acoustic performance videos, some time in the future.

Very early Thursday morning I'm flying out to the Pot Luck Audio Conference in Tucson. Pot Luck Con evolved out of the Tape Op Conference, which ran from 2002-2007. This will be the first Pot Luck Con since 2008. I've made a lot of friends at these conferences and it will be great to see everyone again.

As a result, our Daily Music Poll question will stay up until next Monday. While I certainly could update it from the road, I'm looking at this as an experiment. We're thinking of turning the daily poll into a Weekly Music Poll. I'll surely get more busy as we move into autumn and a weekly poll will make things easier. In addition, it'll give folks more time to vote and we'll be able to advertise the same poll question more. Hopefully we'll then get more votes for each question and thus make the poll a little more representative of the opinions of our little Saturday's Radio community.

So, our six-day Daily Music Poll question asks folks to choose between two seminal 1966 albums, The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds and The Beatles' Revolver. In yesterday's poll Pearl Jam and Nirvana were tied with one vote for each band.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Bill Berry, Adam Duritz, Chuck D., Robert Cray, and J.K. Rowling.

We'll leave you today with the aforementiond video for "Cracked".
